Breaking & Remaking the Bond: A Third Line Journey
Plus a new mini offering to help you explore your mental stories
Before I dive into today’s letter talking about the beautiful third line journey of breaking and remaking bonds, I want to take a second and let you know about a new offering I’m eager to experiment with you: a Mini Not Self Reading. My desire with this mini offering is to open up an explorative space for you to reflect on the mental stories that may undermine your sense of self-trust and how you can reshift them into a more empowered way of being. You can find all the details at the end of this letter.
And if you’re unfamiliar with the Human Design term Not Self, here's a letter I wrote in November last year that introduces the concept.

Hey wild-hearted wanderer,
You might remember, a little while ago I wrote about my break from my breathwork practice . It’s something I’ve come back to recently after attending a weekend breathwork and singing retreat locally here in Leicestershire with the beautiful Olivia Mendoza and her co-facilitator Simon. I had no doubt I’d get back to my breathwork practice, even though my mind had its doubts based on past mental stories. All I could offer myself whilst in that phase was patience, grace and compassion.
And this whole process got me reflecting on something—this cycle I keep living through, again and again; this cycle all of us third lines are personally familiar with. The pattern of making, breaking, and remaking a bond.
It’s a rhythm, as third lines, we know well, not just in relationships, work, or creative pursuits, but in our relationship with ourselves, our practices, and even the tools that help shape our growth and maturation. But so often, when we’re unaware of these patterns playing out in our lives, the breaking of the bond is surrounded with so much shame, guilt and judgement. Learning about my own making-breaking-remaking cycle has expanded my capacity to accept it as an integral part of who I am. And that has allowed me to cultivate trust in the whole process.
If you have a third line in your Human Design profile, whether on your Personality or Design side, you will most likely resonate with this. The third line design is wired for trial and error, for falling and rising, for discovering truth through lived experience. On the outside looking in, this may seem chaotic and messy to the people around you, but to us, third lines, it’s a necessary part of our journey here on Earth. It’s what helps us build our resilience. We’re designed for hard knocks. It’s how we learn.
And here’s what I’ve come to see:
breaking the bond isn’t failure. A break is not necessarily permanent. Often, it’s part of the cycle of cultivating deeper awareness.
And, I’d add, it’s also an imperative part of cultivating a deeper connection within a relationship, with self and others, practice or work.
Every time a bond is remade, it holds more truth, more clarity, more alignment than before.
Breaking the Bond With Breathwork & Human Design
I’ve broken the bond with breathwork before. I’ve broken the bond with Human Design before. I’ve broken many bonds in my life, some prematurely and some at the right time; some where never remade, and others keep coming back. And I’ve learned to acknowledge that process as a necessary part of my journey. I often don’t know what the breaking of the bond will lead to, and I’ve learned to detach from trying to make meaning whilst in that space. But what I’m finding is that the insights will come once the cycle is complete. All I have to do is lean into the experience and allow it to run its course.
In the past, I’ve stepped away, resisted, questioned whether these modalities could still hold meaning for me. And each time, something has led me back—a deeper layer of understanding, a shift in perspective, a realization I couldn’t have had without first stepping away. Honestly, it’s become another way of cultivating self-trust, a theme I keep returning to, or rather, life keeps pulling me to.
I used blame the breaking of the bond on me being inconsistent, a sign that I wasn’t committed enough, that these modalities weren’t really a permanent element of my life, that if I couldn’t will myself to show up to them all the time, I wasn’t serious about them. But now, I see it differently. Each time I return, I come back with a greater depth of awareness, with a stronger foundation of self-trust, a sense of curiosity that allows me to journey further into the darkness, and a process of integration that needs to happen before I can dive deeper.
The Synergy of Knowing & Being
Here’s why:
Breathwork helps clear the noise, soften resistance, and bring you back into your body—where truth lives. It’s not about forcing an answer but about making space for it to reveal itself. It’s about releasing the expectations and exhaling the layers of conditioning, self-doubt, and urgency and allowing clarity to emerge in the stillness.
Human Design offers the map, the language to understand what pulls you out of yourself and what guides you back in. It’s not about becoming something new; it’s about remembering who you’ve always been and learning to come back to it. It’s about cultivating trust and awareness in your definition and allowing your life force to run through you uninhibited.
And the truth is, I need to break the bond with them in order to reweave it back stronger. For it is in the reweaving of the bond that the fibers get more resilient and are able to hold more.
What I love most about weaving breathwork and Human Design together is that one helps you understand yourself, while the other helps you embody that understanding.
Human Design gives you the roadmap to your unique frequency, and the permission slip to embrace your natural flow. The part that excites me most though is that this modality also helps you highlight the mental stories that undermine your natural way of being. And that can often happen through the conditioning of our upbringing, peers, educational systems we’re in, and the society at large. With the help of the bodygraph, we’re able to pinpoint to these narratives and patterns and shed light on them, and perhaps reweave them into a more empowered way of being.
Breathwork moves you from mind to body. From overthinking to trusting. From hesitation to groundedness in your being. It helps you question the mental narratives on a somatic level and embody the understanding of your design. Because the intellectual understanding is not enough. What’s needed is embodied awareness and our own breath is a beautiful vehicle to get us there.
Together, they create a bridge from knowing to being.
And this, I believe, is the essence of the third-line journey—not just learning but living. Not just knowing, but experiencing. Not just reading about surrender, trust, and alignment, but feeling it in your bones.
Take This With You
For my fellow third lines, if you’ve ever felt like you’ve broken the bond with something that once mattered to you—whether it’s a practice, a belief, or even a part of yourself—know this: breaking the bond is not the end of the story. It’s an invitation to remake it with deeper awareness.
So today, I invite you to ask yourself:
What bond have I broken that might be calling me back?
What might be different if I approached it with a fresh perspective?
How can I trust that stepping away was part of the process, not a mistake?
Wherever you are in your own cycle of making, breaking, and remaking, trust the process. Trust that each return brings you closer to your truth.
And for those of you who have third lines in your life, let them know you’re there for them. Hold space for their experimentations. Give them space but don’t let them be an escape artist. Let them know how resilient they are instead of drowning in self-pity. Ask them about their mistakes as well as the lessons they’re learning. And laugh with them. We don’t need to be shamed or judged or for our trials and errors to be pointed out. Trust me, we know them. But please do encourage us to see the wisdom within them. Remind us how we’re able to turn our “failures” into lessons.
And now, as promised, here are the details for the new Mini Not Self Reading offering I’m excited to experiment with you.
An Explorative Space to Explore Your Mental Stories
What if the patterns you keep running into aren’t obstacles but invitations to explore something deeper?
Your Not-Self patterns are the mental narratives shaped by openness in your Human Design bodygraph—subtle but powerful stories influencing the way you move through life. This Mini Not-Self Reading is an invitation to bring those patterns into awareness, to explore them with curiosity rather than judgment, and to reconnect with your natural way of being.
What’s a Mini Reading?
A 20 minute recorded message, based on your bodygraph, delivered to your inbox.
Insights into the core wound and the Not-Self themes shaping your life.
A fresh perspective on the challenges around self-trust and decision making.
One key breathwork practice to help shift mental noise and start grounding in your body wisdom.
An opportunity to gently uncover your mental stories instead of fixing yourself; to realign instead of forcing change.
I’m only opening up 5 spots for this round. Due to the depth of these readings, I’m keeping them limited for now—so if this speaks to you, trust the pull and book yours now for £22.
I wanted to make it affordable for couple of reasons. Firstly, this knowledge has the power to open up a portal of deep acceptance for the way we’ve moved through life thus far, and the possibility of realignment. And secondly, this topic is something I’m keen to experiment with and refine. And I’d love for you to be a part of that journey.
To create your reading, I’ll need your accurate birth date, time, and location in order for me to generate your Human Design chart. So please fill out the relevant boxes and only book if you know your exact birth info.
Click here and let’s explore the patterns that have been quietly shaping your story and how you can reweave them into a more empowered way of being.
Sending you a deep, nourishing breath,
Silvia
